Homemade Dishwasher Pods
Have you ever looked at the store bought plastic covered chemically dishwasher pods and wondered how hard it is to make your own? It's actually really easy!! Here's a recipe I put together that works great for me!

I find this recipe works great for the average dishwasher load! If I have a heavier load I usually put two pods in to be on the safe side. Also, instead of a rinse aid I use vinegar in the rinse aid dispenser.
With this batch costing little more than a box of baking soda, it's a cost effective alternative, and so much safer than bought pods!
The below TikTok video shows a version of this recipe with only 2 Tbsp of lemon juice and castile soap - since then I found that the pods stick together better with a little more of each, so I've increased the amount of each in the recipe to 3 Tbsp. This will result in them taking a little longer to dry, but the end result is they stick together a little better.
