Growing up on a farm in the 70's and 80s, I was taught the importance of growing a garden and harvesting and storing produce from the garden. Back then, everyone "prepped" - people grew their own food and preserved it to get through the winter.  Visits to supermarkets weren't as common as they are now.

I remember spending endless hours skinning onions, shelling peas and husking corn.  The memories are amazing and the food was so fresh!
